Building Dreams Rose Parade 2011 from HGTV Dream Home
This year’s Rose Parade theme of ‘Building Dreams, Friendships and Memories’ exemplifies the spirit of the HGTV Dream Home Giveaway. Created exclusively of organic materials including cocoa powder, redwood bark and poppy seed grout, the float reflects the rustic appeal of the actual HGTV Dream Home 2011 located at Spruce Peak in Stowe, Vermont. It depicts area attractions including rolling hills, winding roads and ski slopes punctuated by snow-tipped evergreens. Eleven sculpted trees with vibrant autumn “leaves” made of 5,000 roses, 10,000 carnations, chrysanthemums and strawflowers capture the season’s intense colors of gold, yellow, red and orange. A real stream for fishing and kayaking also is included on the float. The “snow” covered roof top of the home is made of white and lavender chrysanthemums with fine cut everlasting accents for a natural sparkle.
