Luxurious Compact Home in San Francisco

Posted by admin on October 8, 2010 Luxury Design

This Luxurious Compact Home location in San Francisco designed from group41inc, additional features include an open stair that dramatically increases the perception of space in an otherwise very luxurious compact home design. The speculative development involved extensive home renovation, dramatically altering its usability and turning two illegal 1-bedroom units into a luxurious single family home. This home design is acottage, originally built as an “earthquake shelter” after the 1906 devastation of San Francisco, remained as built to this day.

Hints of craftsman architectural language that already existed were embellished and used to emphasize volumetric space and enliven surfaces throughout the house, but with sleek modern decor with touches in the kitchen and baths. The expansion down to a new third level allowed the addition of a lovely master suite letting to a rear garden. Several terraces add 3-dimensional interest.
