Greenpoint Stadium World Cup 2010 in Cape Town, South Africa

Greenpoint Stadium is located in Cape Town, South Africa featuring magnificent architecture of buildings. The stadium hosted the World Cup 2010 by providing more than 65,000 seats for football fans who will enjoy the eight World Cup matches in 2010. Greenpoint Stadium was designed by Volkwin Nienhoff with Marg and Hubert Robert Hormes from German firm, gmp architekten.

The exterior shell of the stadium designed with the composition of an abstract construction of a unique membrane undulating silhouette. Membranes composed of light elements that form the concave facade expansive cohesive flow, which follows the form of corrugated stadium. Greenpoint Stadium is designed to accommodate soccer and rugby games. Interior stadium designed so that the overall focus is directed from the bleachers in the playground, to create an atmosphere of intense and interesting. Provide seating for around 68 000 spectators, which is divided into three levels. 1800 businesses and 1500 more seats for the VIP seats. All seats have excellent visibility of the field. Roof construction is a combination of the radial truss structure. Corrugated roof equipped with safety glass elements translucent membrane. This room also provides protection from the weather and serves as insulation volume.
